Serj Tankian's response to Bryce reliving their awkward run-in is the 'most Kiwi thing ever'

"I'm gonna come knock on the door at The Rock and I'm gonna call you out."

System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian continues to prove how much of a GC he is, time after time.

The Morning Rumble caught up with the metal legend this week, to find out more about his new book and just generally spin a yarn or two.

Bryce took the opportunity not only to replay audio from a past interview where he talked about a time he was too scared to say hi to Serj, but recounted another, more recent, cringey interaction.

"When's it happening, when are we just gonna become friends, man?" he asked Serj.

"Just the other week I saw you outside Ponsonby Central and I gave you the classic Kiwi [eyebrow raise]. You made eye contact, but then quickly turned away."

Undeterred by Bryce's rambling, Serj stepped up, telling him:

I'm gonna come knock on the door at The Rock and I'm gonna call you out, and we're gonna go and get a flat white and chill.

What a guy.

"You're so New Zealand, that's such a New Zealand thing to do," Mulls replied.

Of course, Serj is actually a New Zealand resident these days, but he still splits his time between here and LA - so a sighting of him in the wild is still pretty rare.

Bryce added: "NZers love you man, you know that", to which Serj said "Ah thanks guys, I love NZ. NZ is my home."
