Slipknot have officially confirmed who their new drummer is

After weeks of speculation, Slipknot have finally announced who their new drummer is.

After weeks of speculation, Slipknot have finally announced who their new drummer is.

It was confirmed yesterday (April 30th), that Eloy Casagrande - who’s been long suspected by fans as the new drummer - is in fact the latest member to join Slipknot on the sticks.

The band took to social media for the announcement, posting a new promo photo of its nine members in their iconic masks and red jumpsuits, with eight of its nine members being tagged in, including Eloy Casagrande.

Casagrande is the former drummer of the Brazilian metal band Sepultra, and made his live debut alongside his new Slipknot bandmates last week during an intimate, surprise gig in California (April 25th). He also joined the band for their Sick New World Festival co-headline set over the weekend.

So now we know who’s taking over from Jay Weinberg on the sticks, but we still don’t know who the mystery ninth member is that replaced Craig Jones last year.

Fans have been doing some detective work, and have found the name ‘Jeff’ from findings on the Slipknot-affiliated website youcantkillme.com - so there’s swirlings that whoever’s replacing Jones is named Jeff. Honestly, who knows.

As for what Slipknot have planned for this year, percussionist Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan told NME that they’re set to drop their unreleased album ‘Look Outside Your Window’ this year, which was recorded back in 2008.
