Ref pleads with NRL Women’s players to simmer down during 'really angry' mid-match brawl

Frustrations were "boiling over" from the Roosters.

Things got bloody heated in a clash between the NRLW Roosters and Titans teams in a mid-match scrap.

Footage of the Roosters winger Jayme Fressard chucking the game ball at Titans centre Jaime Chapman has gone viral after it ended in an all-in brawl between both sides.

“Jayme, JAYME, JAYME,!!! Get outta there,” the ref repeated trying to de-escalate the situation, but the fire was just cranking up.

Each team came together in an aggressive face-to-face before over a dozen hands were seen shoving anyone wearing the opposition jersey.

“Oh there it is, there’s the frustration boiling over from the Roosters,” a commentator can be heard saying. “It’s been simmering throughout, now they really are angry. Gee whiz!”

By the end, Titans prop Jessika Elliston was slammed right up against the crowd boundary by two Roosters players, while Jaime was left behind to cop it from the ref.

It didn’t bode well for her, as she ended up sin-binned for her part in kicking off the whole debacle.

Fans have been reacting to the row, with one writing: “Girls showing some passion.”

“This is worth the price of admission alone,” said another.

While a third said: “They do it better than the blokes.”

Others are calling the whole thing unnecessary, to begin with.

“Starts it then stands back and watches 😂🤦🏽‍♂️,” wrote one commenter.

Another said: “I love the women go hard, but it would be a shame to see continuous push & shoves like this and even punches…”

What do we reckon? Was the scrap called for after that play?
